Sersiegn? (m), 25 AL [who is this?]
between Tempy and Elgena(?) is written the word "nieces"; I saw references in the Pike Co. Probate Minutes indicating that Ephraim was the guardian of Tempy J. and E. A. FRIZZLE--surely they were the two youngest daughters of Jason & Utha (see 1850). Obviously, Ephraim and Jason both named daughters "Temperance" and they were about the same age. Temperance "A." (who married in 1861, as per previous correspondence) apparently belonged to Ephraim, while Temperance "J" was Jason's, who became a ward of her uncle Ephraim's after Jason's death.]
Cynthia Kirkland wrote: Tempy J. and Elzena were nieces, both daughters of his brother, Jason, who died a year earlier. Ephraim was appointed their guardian Oct 4 1862 (Pike Co. AL General Estate Book 16).
J. Sovreign, age 25, was also listed in their household as a farm laborer, no relation that we know of.
