JoAnn Elizabeth Hobbs
March 4, 1946 - March 23, 2006
JoAnn Elizabeth Hobbs, 60, of Sterling died March 23, 2006, in Sterling. Memorial services will be held Monday, March 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lighthouse Baptist Church, 702 Broadway, with the Rev. LeeRoy Pickering officiating. Services will conclude at the church.
Mrs. Hobbs was born March 4, 1946, in Sidney, Neb., to Damon and Josephine (Zartman) Cloud. She graduated from Sidney High School, moved to Indiana in 1963, moved to Arizona in 1966, back to Sidney in 1969 and later moved to Sterling. She married James Hobbs on Feb. 23, 1970 in Sterling and they moved to Fleming. She moved back to Sterling in 1994.
Mrs. Hobbs was a cook at the Day's Inn for six years. She belonged to the First Foursquare Church and was a member of the Fleming Volunteer Fire Department.
She is survived by her husband, James Hobbs of Fleming; daughters Kim Gretch and husband Dennis of Sterling and Laura Dittler and husband Kurt of Exira, Iowa; sons James Dean Hobbs and wife Erin of Sterling, LeRoy Hobbs and wife Amber of Sterling and Robert Hobbs of Fleming; brothers Robert Cloud and wife Betty Jo of Sidney, Neb., and Joy Cloud of Alliance, Neb.; brother-in-law Don Hobbs of Los Lunas, N.M.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and special friend Marlene Goddard of Sterling.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Joseph, and sisters Lorraine Benzel and Cleo Liska. Memorials can be made to the JoAnn Hobbs Memorial Fund.
