- He served as a private in the Army and was assigned to Fort Richardson in Alaska (1955). He entered the Army in October of 1954 and completed his basic training at Fort Ord.

Obituary:
Burlingame Grad Drowns
A graduate of Burlingame High school, Thomas MacKenzie Cloud, 24,drowned while skin diving at Pismo Beach yesterday.
Cloud, a business administration major at California State Polytechnic college in San Luis Obispo, was on the beach with a party of friends when he got into difficulties. His body was recovered, artificial respiration tried and and ambulance called, but he was dead on arrival at the hospital.
A native of San Francisco, Cloud was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl I. Cloud, who moved from Burlingame to Fremont about six months ago. He attended elementary and high school in Burlingame and was active in Methodist church work. After serving two years in the army, he attended College of San Mateo about three years ago for one year.
The body was taken to Palmer-Waters chapel in San Luis Obispo. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at the Methodist church there. Interment will be in Cypress Lawn Memorial park.
Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother, Richard, and a sister, Beryl.
