Mrs. Sergent's Funeral Tuesday
BEAUMONT -- Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Alamo Funeral home chapel in San Antonio for Mrs. Ruth Wiess Sergent, 90, a former Beaumont resident who died Sunday at 7 p.m. in a Marlin nursing home.
Mrs. Sergent donated Wiess park to the city of Beaumont when she was living in this city.
She had lived many years in San Antonio before entering the Marlin nursing home several years ago.
She was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, the Pan American Round Table and The Animal Defense league.
Mrs. Sergent is survived by a niece, Mrs. Robert Mundy of Hot Springs, Ark., and a nephew, P.A. Parshall, III, of Cedar Valley, Texas.
