Beaumont, Tex., July 2. -- Mrs. E. C. Wiess, aged 34 years, died at noon today, after a lingering illness covering a period of six months.  The end has been expected, and the visit of the death angel was look for all of last night by the anxious relatives and friends and the patient herself.  Every preparation was made by the patient for the leave-taking.  She had selected her pall bearers and indicated her wishes in respect to every detail of the obsequies.  The scene at the bedside diring the last few days, when the end was expected at any moment, was the most pathetic and beautiful ever witnessed.  The mother, sister, husband and little daughter, as well as a host of other relatives and friends, have gathered at the bedside from day to day, and gave the patient sufferef every consolation within their power.  She was perfectly conscious to the last and knew that the end was approaching, and she died caomly resigned with a sublime hope in the future, and only regretting the parting from dear ones.  The funeral will occur tomorrow morning, the services being held at the residence of Capt. and Mrs. William Wiess, on Calder avenue, at 10 o'clock, to be followed by interment in Magnolia Cemetery.  Rev. V. A. Godbey, presiding elder of Beaumont district, will officiate.
The active pall bearers are Ed Stedman, E. A. Fletcher, M. K. Fletcher, Lip Norbell, Joe Carroll, H. D. Keith, John L. Keith and W. F. Keith.  The honorary pall bearers are B. R. Norbell, James L. Keith, George Fecel and R. W. Carrol.
Deceased was born in Sherman, Otc. 3, 1873, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Randolph.  The mother, Mrs. Young, survives, and was at the bedside.  She leaves a sister, Miss Mary Randolph of this city and another sister, Mrs. Roy Potter of Gainesville, and a brother, Horace Randolph of Sherman, her husband and a little daughter 8 years old.  She was married to Mr. Wiess Nov. 8, 1894, in Sherman, and has since resided in Beaumont.  She was prominent in social, literary and religious circles, and her relations extend throughout all the older families of the county.
