    Notes
    • Robert and Ann (Cloud) Casey, storekeepers, were murdered in their sleep, clubbed to death, in their second-floor bedroom above the store the night of August 19, 1910 (see Genealogical Notes of the Cloud Family" by Thos. Maxwell Potts, p. 172). The death certificate gives Aug. 20, 1910, but that's when the bodies were discovered.

      REESE ROBERTS
Reese Roberts, Convicted of Murder of Mr. and Mrs. Casey, to Be Hanged Today.
WILMINGTON, Del., July 13. Reese Roberts, a negro of Chester, Pa., will be hanged at the New Castle county workhouse tomorrow for the murder of Robert Casey and Ann, his wife, an aged couple of Claymont, on Saturday, August 20, 1910. He was tried and convicted of the murder of Mrs. Casey only, but there is no doubt that the double crime was committed by the same hand.
