On 29 June 1861, Matthew KELL donated an adjacent piece of land to himself, Henry BOYD, William BABB, and H. T. EMBRY as Trustees, and construction began on the New Liberty Methodist Church.
On 1 Jan 1861, Rebecca (SELLERS) BOYD married James KELL. She spent the rest of her life in service to the church and to the family of the area.
