Regarding the conflict in the names on the 1880 census (James and Cherrie vs. Joseph and Phebe), researcher descendant Brad Bisinger wrote (Mar. 4, 2009): "I cannot account for Joseph J Cloud Phebe Cloud for this census, but when I found "James" Cloud, daughter Hester Bailey, and her husband John all living under one roof in Gloucester City it became pretty obvious to me that this was my Joseph "J" Cloud, and his daughter Hester. The ages all match up in the 1880C and the fact that I cannot find them anywhere else convinces me this is them. Add the fact that "Hettie" Cloud signed off on Joseph J Cloud's death certificate and lived next door (515 Market St) and you have a very convincing argument."
