Hugh Oliver BALDWIN, 71, R.R. 4, Rochester, died at 2:40 p.m. Friday at Woodlawn hospital where he had been a patient for about four weeks. He had been in failing health for a year.
Mr. Baldwin was born April 14, 1906, to Ollie and Alice PICKENS BALDWIN at Bruce Lake. He was married March 3, 1934, to Hattie MOON; she survives. He lived most of his life in Fulton and Marshall counties and retired from the Bendix corporation, South Bend, in 1969. He was a member of the Rochester First Assembly of God church.
Surviving with the wife are four sons, Wayne E. [BALDWIN], Logansport; Hugh [BALDWIN], Jr., Rochester; the Rev. David L. [BALDWIN], Plattsburg, Mo.; and Gary D. [BALDWIN]; nine grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. Goldie MUZZEY, Dunlap; Mrs. Venus PRATT, Hamlet; Mrs. Martha CLOUD, Rochester; Mrs. Edith WOLF, South Bend; Mrs. Geraldine WHITE, Knox, and Mrs. Dorothy FORKER, Knox, and four brothers, Donald [BALDWIN], South Bend; Elmer [BALDWIN], South Bend; Delbert ZELLERS, South Bend, and Oscar ZELLERS, South Bend. A sister and a brother preceded in death.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Foster & Good funeral home with the Rev. David BALDWIN and the Rev. Clifton WILKINS officiating. Burial will be at the Bruce Lake cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the services Monday
