- Lived in Durham, Connecticut where he and his wife, Mary, were baptized in February, 1766
Moved to Claremont, New Hampshire sometime between Jan 1768 and Nov 1769.
"Beriah Murray of Claremont, New Hampshire, who was in Col. Benjamin Bellows' regiment which marched to the relief of Fort Ticonderoga in 1777, settled in Williston, Vermont at the close of the Revolutionary War. Famed as a hunter, he had previously been in this section of Vermont and had purchased lots in the north and central parts of Hinesburgh, which contained excellent mill sites, which he sold to Lemuel Bostwick, who built a carding mill." Served as a private Capt Olin Ashley's Company of Colonel Benjamin Bellows' regiment of the New Hampshire Militia in the Revolutionary War, which marched to relieve Fort Ticonderoga in June, 1777, where an engagement was had with the enemy on or about June 28, 1777. Also marched with same regiment at the requisition of Major General Gates to reinforce the army at Ticonderoga in October of 1776. See State Papers of New Hampshire Vol. 17, p. 105. Also State Papers of New Hampshire Vol. 16, p. 605, 607
After the war, he and his family moved to a farm in Williston, VT.
