Kidnapper Sentenced 25 to 50 Years

PHOENIX, Ariz., March 31 -- Grattus Louis Cloud, 24, former Utah convict, was sentenced to serve 25 to 50 years in Arizona State prison Monday, without possibility of parole until the minimum is served, for kidnaping (sic) a Phoenix business man.
It was the first sentence under Arizona's six-year-old kidnap law, which precludes parole until the minimum sentence has been served.
Cloud was convicted of taking Philip J. Downs from the Phoenix postoffice at gun point Jan. 22 and leaving him bound on the desert after robbing him of his money and automobile.
