MRS. MATTIE ENGLISH PASSES AT LOCAL HOSPITAL, THURSDAY.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie English, life-long resident of Oglethorpe, who died at the Riverside Sanatorium, Thursday, October 28, were held Friday afternoon. Graveside services were conducted at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church by the Rev. John D. Zeigler.
Born January 31. 1874 in Macon County, the daughter of the late John L. and Carolyn Daniel Kleckley, Mrs. English was seventy-four years of age. She was the wife of the late Mack English.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Richard Forrester of Raleigh, N. C., Mrs. Henry Johnson and Mrs. Charles Everett, both of Oglethorpe; one son, Henry B. English of Oglethorpe; and three grandchildren.
[Note: Mattie K. English [1874 - 1948] is buried in Mt. Zion Lutheran Cemetery beside her husband, Mack English [1870 - 1929]
