          DORIS SHAFER BECOMES BRIDE OF MARITIME OFFICER
          "The Rev. W.S. Grant (????) officiated yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock at the marriage of Doris Florence Shaver, daughter of Mrs. Florence E. Shaver of Uncasville and Lieut. (? g.) Elmer Richard Bumstead of the Maritime Service, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bumstead of Jasper, Tex., which took place at Huntington Street Baptist Church.  The single ring ceremony was used.
          Music at the church during the ceremony was provided by Beatrice Beckwith, soloist, and Mrs. Harold Lawson, organist.
          Claudia Stewart was maid of honor and the bridegroom had Marvy Tuttle for his best man.  Ushers were Charles Parks and George Beckwith.
          The bride wore a white sild street length dress with accessories of the same color and a corsage of white roses.  The maid of honor wore a blue silk dress with harmonizing accessories and a corsage of pink roses.
          The couple left for a wedding trip to California and on their return trip will stop in Texas to visit the bridegroom's parents.  They will reside in Nyack, N.Y.
          The bride attended Williams Memorial Institute and has been employed at the office of the New London Fabrics Corp.  The bridegroom was educated at Jasper, Tex. High school.
