Massena Wiess (1849-1921).  We have no picture of Massena Wiess.  The picture above is of his store in Round Rock, Texas.  His father was a great admirer of Napoleon Bonaparte, and he was named for one of Napoleon's chief marshals, Marshal Andre Massena.  He and his brother Valentine operated the family store at Wiess' Bluff until about 1870.  He later moved to Round Rock, Texas and operated a mercantile and cotton business there.  He also lived and worked in Luling and Sour Lake, Texas and, later in his life, he moved back to Beaumont, Texas.
