| Houston Judge James Anderson Elkins (1879-1972), a business associate of William Wesley Kyle and T.P. Lee. William W. Kyle and T.P. Lee were Wesley Wiess Kyle's grandfathers and founders of the Yount-Lee Oil Company. W. Howard Lee, husband of Hedy Lamarr (actress, inventor and the "mother of the cell phone") and actress Gene Tierney; and Faustine Lee, who married Glenn McCarthy; were children of William Lee, brother to Thomas Peter "T.P." Lee and so are Wesley's first cousins once removed. The great oil discovery in 1901 at Spindletop was on land owned by McFaddin, Wiess and Kyle. This was W.P.H. McFaddin, Valentine Wiess (Massena's older brother) and Obadiah Kyle. |
