    Notes 
    • James W. (Pete) Cloud worked for Southern Railway like his father.  He was killed by a train while working in the Stevenson, AL, railway yards.  He was apparently caught beneath the wheels of a westbound freight train at 1:15 A.M. and crushed to death.  He was buried in Old Baptist cemetery near Edgefield, Jackson County, AL.  His body was later exhumed and re-buried in Tuscumbia, AL. (The Mount Carmel Cemetery has a record of him being buried there, along with his brothers Robert and Arthur.)

      James Cloud, 45, Southern Railway brakeman was killed early Tuesday morning in the railway yards here.
      He was apparently caught beneath the wheels of a wastbound freight train at 1:15 a.m. and crushed to death.
      The body was found under the train by another trainman.
