    • Obituary:
      Kenneth D. Cloud, son of Emmett and Perlina Cloud, was born in Stone county, Dec. 5, 1895, and departed this life Sept. 3, 1938, at the age of 42 years, eight months and 28 days. He was married to Ruth Ely Feb. 18, 1920, and to this union were born two children; Donald and Doris Jean. Beside his immediate family, he is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Perlina Cloud of Clever, Mo., a brother and sister, Everett and Elva, both of Springfield. The names of two nieces belong to this list, Norma Lee and Mary Lou Houser, for to them their uncle Kenneth had been a loving father. During the time of the World War, Kenneth was in training at Camp Funston for nearly a year. He was always an interested and capable citizen and at the time of his death he was president of the Clever school board, treasurer of P.T.A., a member of the town board, a member of the Official Board of the Methodist church, president of a large Sunday School class and a member of the board of Stewards at his church. Bro. Kenneth was converted to Christ in a revival held by Bro. Wolff in the summer of 1929 and his life has been filled with good deeds and has ever been busy in the services of his Master, and he could always be depended upon to share his part of the responsibilities. He will be sadly missed in his home, his community, and his church. ?Our loss is Heaven?s gain.? Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Clever Methodist church conducted by the pastor, Rev. C.S. Young with burial in the Rose Hill cemetery near Billings under the direction of the Wilburn Maples Funeral Home of Clever, Mo. The American Legion had charge of the services at the grave.
