      Talbot County Will dated Aug 24, 1843. John Hammock Names as executor son Hope H. Hammock--plantation of 300 acres, 202 1/2 acres in carrol Co. Ga, 7 slaves, horse, hogs, crops, wife named Rachael "his mother" Sons: Robert B., John P., Lewis W. william E. Jacson Trebecca McBride, Nancy Childers w/o John Childers, Elizabeth Adams, w/o Caleb Adams of Stewart Co.  Left Hope Hull 4 slaves.
      A note from WK Hammack states that he has proof that the John Hammock in Talbot Co Ga is the son of Robert Hammock Jr. in Wilkes Co. Ga (wife Milenore Jacson)

Co., 1982 p.228 State of Georgia Wilkes County.We the Justices of this District, do certify that Jacob Ray and Lewis Hammock are good and Lawful Citizens of out Dis,t and have demeanded themselves as good Citizens and wish to pass and repass to the Territory of Mississippi. We therefore do wish and hope that a passport may be granted to tha Effect- sign'd by Us-Wm Thompson J.P /Jas Patterson J.P 7th October 1808.       DOG from father 1773 Amelia Co., VA to dau Milenor and son-in-law Robert Hammock.  Also, will states 1789 dau.
      DeathDATE: The will of John Hammock, probated in Talbot County, Georgia was witnessed on 24 Aug 1843 and was probated 4 Sep 1843.

      1850 GA census Talbot Co-I have reconstructed Rebecca HAMMOCK-McBRYDE's family from this record since the family lived next door to Robert H McBRYDE in the 1840 and 1850.
      From Talbot Co. Will Book A (Abstracted by Gov. Geo. W Towns, Chapter, NS. DAR.) John Hammock Talbot GA. Dated Aug 24, 1843. Proven-Sept 1843. I  name as my agent ......... During lifetime of me and my wife and my executor at my death, Hope H Hammock, my young son, do take into his charge and control all my proberty........ as follows.... my plantation where I now live containing 300 acres more or less, known as No. 97 in 16th District of originally Muscogee now Talbot Co GA., and the West half of No 98, same Dist. also one lot, no. 54 in 8th. Dist. of Carrol Co GA containing 202 1/2 acres more or less, also personal estate, viz. Dinah, a woman 76 yrs. old, Ellen a woman 26, Betty, a girl 15, Clarissa, a girl 11 years old, Jim a boy 9, Tener, a girl 7, Anna, a girl chil about 5 months old. They being the slaves which I now own. Also 2 horses, a sorrel mare, a bay horse,also 28 or 30 head of hogs, whole crop of cotten, corn, oates, Gin Irons, Thrashing machine Irons, Cotton screw: also, all my house furniture, consisting of Beds, bed clothing, tables, sideboards, chests, trunks, plates dishes, all notes, papers, bounus accounts and all else of value........ With above descrived property the said Hope H. Hammock shall pay off all my indebtedness, personal and security. Also, give to me and my wife Rachael, his mother a food and sufficient support as long as both or either of us shall live. No division of Estate so long as wife and I live. At death the following division: Son Robert B Harrison (Hammock) 2 50/100 dollars to be paid when convenient. Son John P Hammock 2 50/ dollars. Son Lewis W, $5/00. Daughter Mary Posey $20/00.
