    Notes
    • From Roger Scales (bonscales-at-prodigy.net):  My great-great grandfather was Robert William Scales (1 Jun 1808 - 28 Oct 1882), and his brother was Dr. Joseph William Scales (1814 - 14 Nov 1899). Robert and Joseph came to Austin County Texas from Lowndes Co., Mississippi and Williamson Co., Tennessee in about 1853. Joseph and his wife Tabitha (who was a distant cousin and shared the Scales name) left Austin County and settled in Waco, where he was a physician until his death in 1899. He and his wife are buried in the Evergreen Cemetery in the Waco area.
RK gives birth date as 1824.  I used Roger Scales' date of 1824 because Roger had burial location, which means someone probably has seen the headstone.
(Roger Scales): after some searching and a few telephone calls, I found that they are buried in the old Evergreen Cemetery, which is roughly located about 12 miles west of Waco, basically in a midway point between Waco and the small towns of McGregor and Crawford.
The cemetery is located on the old Oliver Farm, and I have contacted Jimmy Westerbrook, who now farms the property. He said the cemetery is in good shape, and that they even have a reunion of the families of people buried in the cemetery the second weekend in October, complete with a barbeque. The cemetery is supposed to be very scenic, located on the banks of a small river that flows though the area. end>

This is probably Charlotte D. "Lottie" Scales, daughter of Dr. Joseph W. Scales.
