Mr.Richard Paul "Dick" Tremain 83 of Jefferson City was released into the hands of his Heavenly Father on Saturday August 11, 2012 at Heisinger Bluffs.
Dick was born on December 22, 1928 in Jefferson City the son of Clarence and Alma Boyce Tremain. He was married on April 10, 1955 in Jefferson City Mo. to Ruby A. Gretlein, who preceded him in deathe on May 28, 1993.
A 1947 graduate of Jefferson City Hgh School, Dick worked for his dad and uncle in Tremain's Resturants for ten years.
He served four years in the United States Air Force serving his country in Korea and Japan.
After his dicharge, Dick opened Tremain's Medical Arts Coffee Shop. In 1966 he opened Tremain's Airport Cafe and operated it for twenty seven years, until his retirement after the 1993 flood.
He served as President of the Capital City Chapter of the Missouri Resturant Assn. for three years. Dick received the Restaurateur of the year award in 1972 and 1978. He also received the Missouri Resturant Association Food Service Hall of Fame Award in 1993.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, serving as Elder and Vice President.
Dick was past president and served as Fair Chairman for the Jefferson City Jaycees. a member of the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5 and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. Aerie 2693.
Survivors include; one son, Scott Tremain and wife Annie of Jefferson City, three grandchilren, Jordan and Alex Tremain and Farhad Ketabforoush, one sister, Marlene Bussard and husband Vern of Tucson, Arizonia, as well as two sisters in law one brother in law and numerous nieces and nephews throughout the country.
Welcoming Dck to his heavenly home are his wife ruby, his parents,Alma and Clarence and his brothers, Eugene and Elmer.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary fro 4-6p.m. Thursday August 16 2012.
Funeral services will be conducted at 6p.m. Thursday August 16, 2012 in the Freeman Chapel with Rev. Russ Bowder officiating.Private graveside services and interment with mlitary honors will be held on Friday August 17, 2012 at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Trinity Lutheran Church Building Improvement Fund.
