      Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, Will Book A, page 28, In the name of God Amen the 12th day of April 1750, I John Jordan of Pennsboro in the County of Lancaster and Province of Pennsylvania Being arrived to a good old age and other Good Causes hereunto one moving I being of Perfect mind and Memory thanks be given unto God therefore calling into Mind the mortality of my body and Knowing that it is appointed for all men Once to die do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament that is to say Principally and first of all I give and Recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that Gave it and my body I Recommend it to the Earth to be buried in a Christian like and Decent manner at the discretion of my Executors Hereafter named. Nothing Doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall Receive the same again by the might Power of God and as Touching such Worldly Estate Where with it has pleased God to bless me in this life I give, devise and depose of the same in the following manner and form. Imprimis: it is my Will and I do order that in the first place all my just debts and funeral charges be paid and fully satisfied. Item, I give and bequeath unto George Timbleton the just sum of 7 shillings and 6 pence. Item, I give and bequeath unto Isabel Barber the just sum of 7 shillings and 6 pence. Item, I give and bequeath unto Richard Vennable the just sum of 7 shillings and 6 pence. Item I give and bequeath unto Archibald Kennedy the just sum of 7 shillings and 6 pence. Item, I give and bequeath unto Samuel Lamb the just sum of 7 shillings and 6 pence. Item, I give and bequeath unto Randle Slack the sum of 7 shillings and 6 pence. Item, I give and bequeath unto Mary Wary one cow and calf and three sheep. Item, I give and bequeath unto Catherine Jordan my Dearly Beloved Wife the one third Part of my Estate both land and movables during her life & after her decease it is my will that falls into the hands of my son John Jordan. Item, I give unto my Beloved son John Jordan the full 2 parts of all my lands movables and all my monies whom with his mother Catherine Jordan. I make ordain constitute and appoint the Executors of this my last will and Testament and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other former Testaments Wills and Legacies or Executors by me in any Will before this time named, willed, bequeathed, Ratifying and Confirming this none other to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written. John Jordan (Seal). Signed Seald published pronounced and declared by the said John Jordan as his Last Will and Testament in presence of us John (x) Adams, John Stewart. I do hereby Ratify & Confirm the within will be my last will and Testament as Witness my hand and seal this 2nd day of Nov 1754 John Jordan (seal).
