      Nora Myrtle (Penley) Hammond
      GATE CITY, Va. - Nora M. Hammond, 91, Route 1, entered into rest Saturday at the Brian Center in Weber City, Va.
      She was born December 6, 1907, in Scott County, Va., a daughter of the late Andrew and Haley Williams Penley. She was of the Methodist faith.
      In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Hammond ; a sister, Gladys Alley.
      Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Neal (Peggy) Cloud, Gate City; three sons, Richard W. Hammond , Gate City, Shelby D. Hammond and Marvin K. Hammond , both of Kingsport; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Amma Hammond , Gate City and Cleo Peters, Kingsport.
      Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Gate City Funeral Home.
      Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Claude Lane officiating.
      Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, Va.
      Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
      Pallbearers will be family and friends.
