    • He and his two brothers operated the Loukas Brothers Cafe and confectionary in Port Arthur and, after prohibition ended, added the Port Arthur Liquor Store.  It was located at 247 - 249 Procter street and the cafe was kept.  It sold liquors, tobacco, magazines and drugs.

      Obituary:
      FRED LOUKAS
      Fred Loukas, 76, of 1645 Lakeshore Drive, Port Arthur, operator of Loukas Brothers Restaurant at 249 Procter St., since 1916, was dead on arrival at St. Mary's Hospital at 10:20 a.m. Sunday.  He was a native of Greece.
      A trisagion will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, at Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home by the Rev. Lambros Valkaiakis, pastor of St. George's Greek Orthodox Church.
      Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. George's church, with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
      Pallbearers will include Dr. Demetrius F. Loukas, Jr., Steve Loukas, Jr., Frad Loukas, Jr., Luke V. Lukas, Luke J. Lucas, and John W. Richard.
      Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Louise Loukas of Port Arthur; five sons, Demetrius Loukas and Steve Loukas, both of Port Arthur; John Loukas of Los Angeles, George Loukas of Beaumont, and Arthur Loukas of Houston; five daughters, Mrs. Catherine Bazar, and Misses Sophie and Penney Loukas, all of Port Arthur.  Mrs. Gladys Meyers of Los Angeles and Mrs. Janet Spann of Memphis, Tenn., 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandckildren.
