- Obituary:
EPPS, JAMES A., age 84, of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2006.
Mr. Epps was a Purple Heart veteran of World War II, an avid fisherman and a charter member of the Tennessee Fur Harvesters Association. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, James Wayne Epps; parents, Henry and Carrie Epps; two sisters, Minnie Eldridge and Rosa Fox; two brothers, Gilbert and Houston Epps.
He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Mary Nell Epps; two daughters, Wanda (James) Shackelford of Strawberry Plains and Linda Way of Morristown; sons, Eddie (Mary Helen) Epps of Morristown, Bobby (Roschell) Epps of Richmond, Ky., Willie E. "Jr." (Carol) Epps of Clyo, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Wanda Faye Epps of Morristown; brothers, Charles (Barbara) Epps of Morristown; sister, Mary (Ralph) Wright of Morristown; two sisters-in-law, Edna Reed of Morristown and Earlene Epps of Alabama; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Friday, June 9 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. J.B. Gulley officiating. The family will meet on Saturday, June 10 at Hamblen Memory Gardens for a 10 a.m. graveside service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, prior to the services at the funeral home. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
