  Notes	Revolutionar War Soldier "John McElwee was a brother of Eleanor McElwee born in 1766, who married a Samuel Lesley. He was also a brother of Jane McElwee, born ca 1768 who married John Leslie, known to be a son of Samuel Leslie. These families are said to have lived at one time on a 200 acre farm of the father, William McElwee II in York Co., SC. This is confusing since the circumstances of intermarriage of the Leslies and McElwees have created a Jane McElwee Leslie and a Jane Leslie McElwee. From Early Leslies in York Co.
