Bumstead Family Reunion

The May 17, 2003 Bumstead Cemetery cleanup and reunion was sponsored by the Mitchell family who has so graciously maintained our family cemetery over the years.  The Cemetery is the resting place of our patriarch, Mourad Bumstead, formerly of Long Island, New York and early settler of the Mexican state of Tejas, veteran of the Siege of Bexar and his wife, the former Jane Cravey of Florida, both founding citizens of the Republic of Texas.  The Bumstead Cemetery in Lumberton, Texas is reserved for the burial of the descendants of Mourad Bumstead and Jane Cravey Bumstead, his wife.  Click on any of the thumbnail images on the left to see pictures of some of the attendees.
(Note that pictures 7 - 14 are from a book-signing in Beaumont, Texas the same day by one of Mourad and Jane's 3rd great grandsons, Brad Whittington, who has written a book "Welcome to Fred" and the pictures 15 - 17 were taken that evening at the home of Mark Wiess Whittington (deceased), 2nd great grandson of Mourad and Jane Bumstead.)
